Crozet, VA The developers of Old Trail Village, a growing community in Crozet, Virginia, are pleased to announce over $5 million in new home sales for the month of May. Amidst growing concern about a sluggish economy and a declining housing market, the success at Old Trail Village proves otherwise in Albemarle County. Only three days into the month of June, the sales team at Old Trail Village has secured just under $1 million in additional home sales.

“You hear a lot of coffee-shop talk about a slow housing market, but we’re seeing a significant turnaround here at Old Trail Village,” remarked Gaylon Beights, President and founder, Beights Corporation, the developer of Old Trail Village. The six new homes were constructed by prominent local builders in different areas of the community and have already sold or are under contract. The first house sold in May is a home located in Ballard Field crafted by Skyline Home Builders. Single-family homes built by Hauser Homes, Rinehart Custom Homes, Arcadia Builders, and European Homes of Albemarle quickly followed in the neighborhoods of Carriage Park, Upper Ballard, and Creekside, respectively. The homes vary in size from over 2,700 square feet to over 4,700 square feet of finished space.

As stated by Rick Spigone, managing residential broker, “With our new Village Center well underway and these new home sales, we have a lot of momentum here at Old Trail Village – it is very exciting.” Construction on the Old Trail Village Center began in March, kick-starting the spring housing marketing in Western Albemarle. Several tenants have been secured for the new Village Center; a mixed-use development featuring retail shops, restaurants, apartments and other services that is due for completion in January 2009. Among those recently announced are a locally-owned and operated family pizza restaurant, and a full-service salon.
