Crozet, VA Anna’s Ristorante Italiano and Pizza, a Charlottesville landmark located near the University, has signed the first lease in the new commercial center at Old Trail Village in Crozet, Virginia. Old Trail Village Center, a mixed-use development featuring retail, office space, and spacious apartments is currently under construction in the Old Trail Village development.
In addition to the traditional menu items offered to area residents for three generations, Anna’s Pizza at Old Trail will be providing delivery to Old Trail residents and others in the nearby Crozet area. “We are excited to be a part of the new community that is Old Trail,” says Marcella Kaufman, current partner and granddaughter of the original Anna, who opened the restaurant over 30 years ago. Her mother and co-owner, Maria Buzzetta, said, “This is a family business, and now we have a fourth generation of children to grow up in our restaurant. It is wonderful how we have raised our children with everyone in the community, and I am sure the new location will provide the same atmosphere to Crozet residents.”
At just over 3,500 square feet, the new location will hold about 100 customers. A traditional after-game lunch spot for little leaguers, the new location will also take reservations for large parties and is being designed with a separate space to host private events. Additionally, the catering service offered to Charlottesville residents will expand to the Crozet area, allowing families and employers to procure hot, fresh pizza and calzones for their gatherings.
Old Trail resident and developer Gaylon Beights said, “It is just perfect that the first lease in the Old Trail Village Center is with a family-owned, local business. The folks at Anna’s truly represent the community-oriented focus of Old Trail, and we’re excited to have them as our neighbors.”
Expected construction delivery of the new space is January 2009, barring weather delays.
