Beights Corporation, through its Old Trail Golf Club, hosted a Chili Cook-Off to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society this past Saturday (11/6).

In what promises to become an annual event, the Old Trail Chili Cook-Off raised over $1800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Organized by a resident of Old Trail Village, the Chili Cook-Off had 20 entrants  and over 100 attendees.  In addition to tasting the entries, attendees enjoyed dessert donated by the Harris Teeter.  Other local merchants donated prizes for the winners.

The event was judged by local chili afficionados, Marcia McGee of Trailside Coffee (located in the Old Trail Village Center); Brian Geiger, The Food Geek (food blogger), and Travis Koshko, Chief Meteorologist from The Newsplex (local CBS affiliate).  They awards prizes in the categories of: Most Flavorful, Most Creative, Spiciest, and Overall.
