Gaylon Beights Speaks on Urban Planning Panel

Gaylon Beights participated in a panel on Urban Planning and Development presented by local non-profit Charlottesville Tomorrow.

Founded in 2005, Charlottesville Tomorrow was founded with the purpose of providing news and information on Albemarle County and Charlottesville City planning, development, land use, and design issues in a non-partison manner.  Brian Wheeler, Executive Director, organized a panel discussion Monday, January 10, 2011.  The discussion followed a presentation by Senior Fellow Ed McMahon, of the Urban Land Institute.  McMahon's position is that good design and Urban Planning that is attractive provides for better growth and more sustainable communities from an economic perspective.  Supporting that opinion is the great success of Beights Coporation's Old Trail Village in Crozet, Virginia, which is experiencing record sales numbers due to its neighborhood model design.
